Kangana Ranaut Appears At The Khar Police Station In A Saree, For The FIR Filed Against Her For Her Remark Against Farmers’ Protest
Actor Kangana Ranaut was clicked today morning arriving at the Khar Police station in connection to the FIR filed against her. The actress was surrounded by bodyguards and cops as she got off the car. Known to carry saree with sheer ease on several occasions, she was seen in a floral white saree with a sleeveless blouse with a pearl necklace. She tied her hair in a low bun and wore strappy kitten heels, with a pair of sunglasses to beat the heat.

As per reports in the media, the actress was supposed to appear at Khar police station on Wednesday, but she visited the police station a day later. The actress had a police complaint filed against her after she commented on the farmers’ protest and compared it to the Khalistani movement. The Panga actress’ this remark had hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community. Hence, she was booked under Section 295-A of the Indian Penal Code. The FIR was booked against her in November 2021. 

As reported in Hindustan Times, her lawyer Rizwan Sidiquee speaking about asking for another date for the actress’ appearance said, “Going by the spirit, aim and intent of the high court order, we requested the investigation officer for an earlier date and wanted to expedite process before the next court hearing. However, the investigation officer was not willing to accommodate us. He neither responded to my messages or calls nor did he revert on the letter which was served on him immediately after the order.”


He also added, “Now my client will appear before him on another earliest date as may be available. So far Mumbai police have confirmed with the Bombay High Court that they shall not arrest the actress till January 25, 2022. This statement was made by the Mumbai police following HC mentioning this FIR having Ranaut's fundamental right to free speech, hence she had to be granted some ad-interim relief.
